Thing 6, Trading Card

It was not difficult to creat trading card, I am still having trouble saving and adding to blog. I could think of a lot of ways to use the trading cards, I am afraid it might take too much time from classtime, but I think students would love to creat their own trading card, create team players, introduce themselves............

Thing 5, Flickr

I can see the pictures on my blog, but I think I am now making my fourth posting and I can not get the posting with the photos.

Think 5, Flickr

I enjoyed looking at the different type of pictures to add to blogs on Flickr. I teach Resource Math and will have 3 Pre-Algebra classes next year, so I my search word was "Algebra." I was pleasantly surprised to find quite a few photos related to algebra. I found two pictures I really thought were funny and summed up how many students feel about MATH.

Thing #3, Creating an Avatar

I think I created an Avatar, but not sure if I exported it.

Lesson 2, Inspiration

7 Habits of Highly Successful People by Stephen Covey was a great review of habits I try to possess. I have always tried to be a proactive person, hopefully focusing on things that I can influence or change and accept things I can not change and deal with them with a positive attitude. I try to be the kind of person that knows there is always more than one perspective and that people's life experience influences who they are and that they know I respect their opinions and ideas. All actions have consequences, try to choose ones that will have positive outcomes.
Viewing problems as challenges and keeping in mind that "you can always learn" and creating your own tool box were the most relevant suggestions from the 7 1/2 Habits presentation for me. I think it is important to have a good attitude, know it is never too late, and adopt I will..I can...I do...., stay abreast of new emerging technology and never be afraid to ask questions. Probably the only think I do not like about new technology is the ability to interact with a live person and be able to ask questions spontaneously without composing a type written and question and waiting for the response.
